As Durable As It Is Powerful
Significant power and capability combined with outstanding durability and ease of maintenance make the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-Off an obvious choice for heavy-duty box-off customers. The 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-Off is powered by one of the most potent powertrain combinations in the heavy-duty segment.
The standard 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine produces 345 horsepower (257 kW) and 375 lb.-ft. (509 N•m) of torque at 4,400 rpm. Versus competitive vehicles with similar size gasoline engines, it provides best-in-class acceleration and towing capability.
Synonymous with power and durability, the optional fuel-efficient Cummins Turbo Diesel generates a class-dominating 610 lb.-ft. (827 N•m) of torque and 325 horsepower (242 kW). In addition to the most torque available in a production heavy-duty box-off, the Cummins Turbo Diesel has overhaul intervals of 350,000 miles, providing more than a 100,000-mile advantage over the competition.
With best-in-class oil change intervals of 15,000 miles (versus 7,500 for the competition), the inline-six Cummins Turbo Diesel contains 40 percent fewer parts than typical V-8 diesels, adding durability, simplified assembly, better reliability and lower repair costs to its repertoire. The Cummins Turbo Diesel is covered by a 5-year/100,000-mile limited warranty.
Built To Work As Hard As Its Customers Do
To make the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-Off more durable than ever, Dodge engineers utilized Dodge Ram Heavy Duty’s stiff, hydroformed frame and superior suspension system. Heavy-duty beam front and rear axles on four-wheel-drive models and the biggest brakes in the heavy-duty class add to Dodge Ram Box-Off’s durability.
Retaining the most visually recognizable DNA of any pickup truck on the market, the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-Off is built directly for commercial customer use with exceptional upfit, towing and carrying capabilities. Body and payload capacity of 5,580 lbs. on Dodge Ram 3500 regular cab with a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine ensures dominating performance for commercial use.
Color offerings include Atlantic Blue, Bright White, Flame Red, Black, Bright Silver Metallic, Patriot Blue, Light Khaki Metallic, Inferno Red and Mineral Gray Metallic.
The Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-Off is built at Chrysler Group’s Saltillo, Mexico, and St. Louis (Mo.) North Assembly Plants.
