2006 Honda Accord Hybrid V-6 Rocket 255 Hp
Press Release:Is it the most self-indulgent car ever built, or the least?
What happens when you add hybrid technology to one of America’s best-loved vehicles? You get performance and fuel efficiency in a very stylish and dependable package. The revolutionary new Accord Hybrid is a 255-hp, V-6 rocket that gives you more low-end torque with increased fuel economy. We’re talking 37 mpg highway, 29 mpg city*. Plus, you get it all in the same safety-conscious and luxurious package you expect from the Accord family of vehicles. So indulge yourself with the most powerful, most fuel-efficient Accord ever made.
The 37 mpg*, ultra-low emission engine in the Accord Hybrid gets you from place to place with great economy. To achieve the extraordinary performance and gas mileage, Honda engineers had to look for ways to reduce weight and boost efficiency. The engine’s magnesium head covers and intake manifold—plus an aluminum hood, front and rear bumper structures and rear suspension knuckles—do just that. The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system increases engine efficiency, while at the same time enhancing steering response. There’s also a unique hybrid air-conditioning system that switches to an electric compressor when at a stop, to always keep occupants comfortable. Even the alloy wheels are specially designed for optimized wind resistance and maximized mileage.
Just how much can you expect to save with the Accord Hybrid? Good question. Well, with gas mileage of 29 mpg city/37 mpg highway there’s the potential to save considerably over your current vehicle. But rather than just let you guess your savings, we thought we’d help with the math. Just enter a bit of data below and let our Savings Calculator do the rest.
The 255-hp Accord Hybrid teams a gasoline engine with the added boost of an Integrated Motor Assist™ (IMA™) electric motor. Both pieces work together in harmony to seamlessly maximize performance and fuel economy to create an exhilarating driving experience.
Honda has a successful lineage in hybrid technology. In fact, we developed the first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle for sale in America, the Insight, in 1999.
Since that time we’ve applied that technology to the Civic Hybrid; and that technology has now made its way to the most popular consumer car in the country, the Accord.
Although this is a hybrid, first and foremost, it’s an Accord. And you can count on the same dependability, quality, luxury and safety to be inherent in the Accord Hybrid as it is in the entire Accord lineup. Plus, with the Accord Hybrid, you get the added benefit of more power with less gas. Kind of hard to say no to that these days, isn’t it?
