Halle Berry is the first African-American ever to win an Oscar as best actress.She won the award on 24 March 2002 for her starring role in the drama Monster’s Ball.She is one of the most highly paid actresses in Hollywood and also a Revlon spokeswoman.Before becoming an actress, Berry entered several beauty contests, finishing as the 1st runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant 1986, and coming in 6th place in the Miss World Pageant in 1986.Playboy named Halle Berry among the 100 Sexiest Women of the Century in 1998, and she’s been on People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in the World list endless times.She went on to become a pioneer for black women in Hollywood.
